The deed is done. With the help of wikignome Tegan this new domain, Nonviolent Worm, is born on the World Wide Web. On this domain I hope to put together the power of Growing Power, represented by the worm, and the Power of Peace represented by nonviolence. The worm is one of the lowest creatures on earth but its creative power, like nonviolence, is one of the greatest. A worm can take waste — compost — eat it, and turn it into the “black gold” of castings, a rich soil for growing. With the power of creative nonviolence and the blessing of God, we can change the world for the good, no matter how lowly or marginalized we are.
There are some of Jesus’ sayings written in the Gospels that I believe are to be taken as they stand and not symbolically. Such statements like “Blessed are the Poor”, “Give all you have to the poor and come follow me”, “Love your enemy” seem to be contradictions or paradox. However, with the power of the Spirit and faith they can happen, or at least we can strive toward them. Creative nonviolence, the soul force, can overcome violence.
The same can said for the garden. Making rich soil from waste, seeds dying to rise again into food, worms as livestock seem, at first glance to be silly but they are true.
You will notice that each posting on the Diary of the Worm is its own web page and has a box in the bottom where you can post comments. A comment, be it one of support, information or disagreement will be deeply appreciated.
This new domain probably will mean the end of my monthly newsletter, Living Stones since the newsletter featured items that will be on the web domain. However, it will mean an addition of some pages, like one devoted to quotes and jokes, and one devoted to an Ignatian “Retreat in Daily Life.”
The heart of the domain will be, just like it was on the Milwaukee Renaissance, this Diary of the Worm. We will continue to dig deeper into the soil of life, now maybe with a wider shovel. The deed is done but is just beginning.

Congratulations, Bob! And thank you again for the opportunity to play ‘midwife’ to this splendid new thing you’ve made.
