Salad MixIn Church this morning our pastor gave a homily where he talked about our obligation not to sit and watch suffering and injustice but to do something about it. Tonight I noticed that a local pastor of another Catholic church had signed the Marquette Peace Petition. Maybe I should invite my own pastor to sign it and see if he wants to join the real mix of characters that have signed it. After I characterized the conflict of values at Marquette last night in the diary as “Military Vs. Worm”, which is sort of like “David Vs. Goliath”, maybe we can get more Christian and Jewish signers. Who cannot root for the underdog?
Some of the salad seeds I planted last week in the planters on the [[GRAF/SystemComponents |plant stand} in the sunroom have taken root and are starting to sprout. This reminds me that I need to plant more seeds in the sunroom of cold weather crops. As you can see below, the sunroom has kept a steady temperature around 60 degrees despite the cold bursts outside. (Another one is coming tonight.) My thermometer in the GP box is broken but once I get that fixed and add it to the data mix, you will see the ground temperature is even warmer than the air temperature in the sunroom.
There are some new links and pages added to the nonviolentworm.org mix today. I added a link to my friend’s Dawn’s homes for the disabled, Foundation Dwellings, a new Thomas Merton quote page and a new joke, finally to Jokes and Quotes. These pages and others in the mix still need some more work, but one can do only do what one can do. This is not to say my mix of what I do is quite right but I am working on it.
