A bright light came today in the mail when I received a small box with seeds I had ordered for inside winter/spring planting. Another, this time a big box, came by express mail today. It was the new 4 in 1 printer sent to me to replace the one not working properly. This bright light of hope for a final fix of my computer woes slowly dimmed as I went through the set up with the technician only to end up, a few hours later, where we had started, like in the Groundhog Day experience. The technician, located in the Philippines, did not want to give up but as the light of the new printer blackened we agreed he would call me back next week.

Bright Lights come not only in boxes but also in phone calls. A friend of my adult son who has become a friend and fishing buddy of mine, called today to say he and his family were doing well and moving out to Arizona soon. Although I am sad to see him move away I was glad to hear how well he is doing. He had lived with us for awhile and had been through many bad bouts with alcohol, mental illnesses and jail. To hear him talk now so enthusiastically about his life was a great joy. He was also the major builder of the Growing Power box in the sunroom and our worm condo.

A sad bright light came today with a Youtube video from a military veteran who gave an amazing speech of the real cause of our wars and who the real enemy is. We talk a lot on a peace listserv about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and their real reasons and causes. This veteran says more in 4 ½ minuets than we have said in years and years of talking. Watch it with care and you will experience the bright light this military veteran shines on war and us.

Bright lights come in small boxes, and in tiny seeds, and in big boxes, and in Youtube videos. The problem is seeing the bright lights.
